Blue Raiders gear up for showdown with Lady Toppers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee will head to Bowling Green, Ky., to face rival Western Kentucky in Sun Belt Conference women's basketball action at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Blue Raiders have won their last eight games, their longest winning streak since a national-best 27 straight during the 2006-07 campaign.
MT enters the game tied for 32nd in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll after receiving six votes and ranked 34th in the Associated Press Poll after garnering five votes.
The Lady Raiders remain the only unbeaten team in the Sun Belt's East Division with a perfect 5-0 record as part of a 13-4 overall mark.
Junior Alysha Clark continues to lead the team in scoring (23.9 ppg) and rebounding (9.6 rpg), but six players on the squad average at least 8.4 ppg for a well-balanced attack. Clark's 23.9 ppg rank second nationally only trailing James Madison's Dawn Evans who has a 24.5 average.
The game will be broadcast live on the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network, and distributed nationally through Fox College Sports Atlantic. Locally on Comcast On-Demand Digital Cable, the network can be found on channel 262. The game is also available on the DirecTV Sports Pack.
