Blue Raiders set to open 2009 season
Team will play at home on Sunday
January 30, 2009 · MT Athletic CommunicationsMiddle Tennessee will first open play on Friday at 5 p.m. when it faces Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tenn. Then on Sunday, Feb. 1 the Blue Raiders will play host to Tennessee Tech at 12 p.m. at Nashboro Village in Nashville, Tenn.
There are just two players returning from the 2008 squad in seniors Marlene Chemin and Andrea Herrera. Chemin and Herrera will guide the Blue Raiders this season as they are the most experienced.
Juniors Natalie Araya and Anna Djananova, who transferred from Lee College, were JCAA women's doubles finalist in 2008 and will use that experience to help them this season.
Rounding out the 2009 Blue Raiders are freshmen Marietta Bigus, Taylor Coffey and Alex Dachos. The trio all performed well in the fall and will add depth to Middle Tennessee this season.
Results will be posted on www.goblueraiders.com throughout the weekend. Fans are welcomed to attend all Blue Raider home matches at Nashboro Village in Nashville, Tenn.
