Middle Tennessee to return home Sunday against WKUFebruary 24, 2009 · Athletic Communications
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team will close its regular-season road schedule with a 5 p.m. Central tip Wednesday at Florida International in Miami, Fla.
The Blue Raiders enter the game with a 23-5 overall and 15-1 Sun Belt record following Saturday's contest at Florida Atlantic. Junior Alysha Clark led the squad with 32 points and 13 rebounds, while Brandi Brown moved into fifth place on the school's all-time list for career 3-pointers with 168.
FIU dropped to 6-21 overall and 4-12 in the Sun Belt following an 83-74 defeat at Western Kentucky Sunday. Monika Bosilj paced the Golden Panthers with 21 points in the loss.
MT captured a 68-35 triumph in the teams' meeting earlier this season, Jan. 11 in Murfreesboro. The contest was broadcast regionally on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS). The 35 points surrendered is the fewest allowed by a Lady Raider squad to a Sun Belt opponent in the Rick Insell era (2005-present).
Middle Tennessee will then conclude the regular season at 3:30 p.m. Sunday against Western Kentucky inside the Murphy Center.
