Blue Raiders fall to Louisville 6-1

Coffey posts win for MT

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Middle Tennessee fell to Louisville 6-1 on Thursday afternoon.

The Cardinals swept the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead. Louisville then won five of the six doubles matches to seal the win.

Freshman Taylor Coffey posted the only win for the Blue Raiders as she defeated Jo-Ann Van Aerde 6-3, 6-2.

Freshman Marietta Bigus and junior Natalie Araya each played a super-tiebreaker after forcing a third set. Bigus lost her match 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (3) to Lindsey Jones while Araya fell to Natalia Baez 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (4).

Middle Tennessee will have the rest of the week off before heading to south Florida next week to play Florida Atlantic, Florida International and Lynn University.
