Blue Raiders fall 4-1 to Bulldogs

Peers posts lone win

FRESNO, Calif. - Middle Tennessee fell to No. 42 Fresno State on Sunday 4-1 in its final match of the weekend.

The Blue Raiders lost the doubles point to begin the match as the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead.

Then Fresno State continued to perform well in singles. Junior Victor Melo fell to Mirko Zapletal 6-3, 6-1 while senior Morgan Richard lost his match 6-2, 6-2 to Flavio Mollinedo.

Sophomore John Peers picked up the lone win for the Blue Raiders as he defeated No. 112 Rikus de Villers 7-5, 6-4.

Middle Tennessee will be back in action next weekend, Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8 at the HEB Invitational in Corpus Christi, Texas.
