Lady Raiders Defeat Memphis 6-1

The Lady Raiders opened the match by picking up a sweep in doubles to take a 1-0 lead over the Tigers. Middle Tennessee won all but one singles match to assure the win over Memphis.
Freshman Claudia Szabo lost her first set 4-6 at No. 2 singles but fought through the match to pick up the win. She came back to take the final two sets 6-1, 6-3.
Ann-Kristin Siljestrom improved to 8-3 on the season with her victory at No. 4 singles. She defeated Kristin Noble 6-3, 6-1.
Middle Tennessee return to action on March 8 when the Lady Raiders travel to Miami, Florida to face Sun Belt Conference foe Florida International. Match time is set for 12 p.m. Central.
