MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee fans and supporters are invited to join the Sun Belt Champion Blue Raider women's basketball team at 6 p.m. Monday at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, Tenn., for the NCAA Selection Show. It will be during the hour-long broadcast, which will be shown on ESPN, the Lady Raiders will learn of their destination and opponent for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Also, beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, immediately following the Selection Show, a live broadcast of The Rick Insell Show will take place from the Embassy Suites with Coach Insell and host Dick Palmer discussing the recent developments regarding the NCAA Tournament field.
MT enters the tournament for the 12th time in program history with a 28-5 record after claiming the Sun Belt Tournament Championship Tuesday with a 74-54 victory in the title game against UALR. Three Blue Raiders were named to the all-tournament team, Brandi Brown, Chelsia Lymon and the tournament's Most Outstanding Player Alysha Clark.
Clark continues to lead the nation in scoring at 27.3 ppg, more than three full points ahead of second place. She is on pace to give Middle Tennessee consecutive national scoring leaders, following Amber Holt's 27.4 ppg in 2007-08.
