March 5, 2005 · MT Media Relations
IOWA CITY, Iowa - Middle Tennessee's Linnie Yarbrough all but assured himself a trip to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 60m hurdles Saturday in the Last Chance Meet at Iowa State.

Yarbrough clocked in a season-best 7.81 in the hurdles to win the event. It will be the first trip to the NCAA Championships for Yarbrough in his career. Yarbrough ran the second fastest in the first round and was fourth in the semi-finals before winning the event.

"The mark is good enough, I think, for Linnie to make the NCAA," said Head Coach Dean Hayes. "I am proud of his performance and he is excited with his time."

Candice Robertson placed seventh in the 60m hurdles but didn't improve her time as she ran an 8.79. Kishara George also placed seventh in the 400m clocking in a time of 54.95.
