Sophomore John Peers, who is ranked 85th, picked up the lone win for the Blue Raiders as he defeated Simon Childs 7-5, 6-1.
Senior Robert McKenzie, ranked 110 in the ITA poll, lost his first singles match of the year as he fell to No. 40 Austen Childs 6-4, 6-3.
Junior Victor Melo lost his match 7-6 (3), 6-3 to No. 74 Victor Maksimcuk in No. 3 singles.
The Blue Raiders lost all three doubles matches but Peers and McKenzie, ranked 34th, teamed up for the first time in a couple of weeks to challenge Childs and Childs. The pair fell 9-8 (5) to the No. 15 doubles team in the country.
Middle Tennessee will be back in action March 19-22 when it travels to Montgomery, Ala., to compete in the Blue Grey Invitational.
