Blue Raiders ready for tourney
MT will face No. 24 Alabama on Thursday

The Blue Raiders, ranked 56 as a team, are one of 16 teams competing in the tournament which is considered one of the most prestigious in the country.
"This is the best college tournament in the country and we are privileged to be a part of it. There are teams all over the country trying to be invited to this tournament so for us to be a part of it is very exciting," head coach David McNamara said. "We have three opportunities to play three great teams and I am very exciting about getting things underway."
The Blue Raiders will begin the tournament at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 when it faces No. 24 Alabama.
Also competing in the tournament are Auburn (30), Boise State (22), Fresno State (43), Hawaii, Mississippi State (48), Notre Dame (26), Oklahoma (41), Oklahoma State (25), Penn State (55), Tennessee (4), Texas Tech (33), VCU (54) William & Mary (61) and Wisconsin (29).
The Blue Raiders will turn to sophomore John Peers to lead them throughout the weekend as he has lost just one dual match contest this season posting an 11-1 record. Senior Robert McKenzie has also performed well for Middle Tennessee as he is 10-1 in dual match play.
