Lady Raiders Fall to Boston 5-2
March 10, 2005 · MT Media RelationsThe Lady Raiders found themselves in a bit of a bind early, as a mix up on the time caused the team to arrive at the courts late. The referee penalized Middle Tennessee for their tardiness, spotting Boston University five points in each of the doubles matches.
Middle Tennessee had to default at No. 3 doubles because of an illness to Claudia Szabo, and eventually dropped the doubles point by losing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Szabo was still feeling peaked, due to a stomach virus, and the Lady Raiders had to concede at No. 6 singles as well, giving the Terriers a 2-0 lead to start the match.
A senior and a freshman got the Lady Raiders on the board as Jennifer Klaschka and Ann-Kristin Siljestrom won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles. Klaschka defeated Erin Katims 6-1, 6-2 for her third consecutive singles win. Siljestrom played her first match at No. 3 singles and defeated Aimee Charest 6-0, 6-3.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Friday to face Sun Belt foe Florida International. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m. Central.
