Blue Raiders lose lineman

Govan leaving team for personal reasons

March 23, 2009 · Athletic Communications

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Head Coach Rick Stockstill announced today that offensive lineman Rogeric Govan has left the team due to personal reasons. Govan, from Little Rock, Ark., took a redshirt year in 2008.

"I am really disappointed that Rogeric is going back home but I understand his situation," said Stockstill. "His mother has some health issues and Rogeric is an only child and feels there needs to be someone at home to take care of her.

"We felt Rogeric had a bright future at Middle Tennessee and we wish him the best of luck and our prayers are with his mother and her health."
