Blue Raiders fall to No. 42 Denver

Araya, Chemin perform well for MT

DENVER - Middle Tennessee lost to No. 42 Denver 7-0 on Saturday afternoon to round out its trip to the Mile High City.

The Blue Raiders began the match with doubles as Denver swept the matches. Junior Natalie Araya and freshman Taylor Coffey had the closest match as they fell 8-5 to Ute Schnoy and Julia Bauregger.

The Pioneers kept the pace in singles but the Blue Raiders did battle. Araya forced a super tiebreaker in her match with Schnoy before falling 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-2.

Senior Marlene Chemin also forced a super tiebreaker before losing 7-6 (2), 5-7, 10-3 to Bhavani Tirumurti.

The Blue Raiders will be back in action on April 11 when they play host to UAB at noon at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Complex.
