Track teams travel to Tiger Track Classic
Strong competition awaits the Blue Raiders at Auburn

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee track and field teams will travel to Auburn, Ala. for the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn University.
The Tiger Track Classic will feature a strong cast of athletes from some of the best teams in the country. Three men's teams including Kentucky, Georgia and South Carolina and three women's teams including host Auburn, Minnesota and South Carolina will all be represented and enter with top 25 rankings. Sun Belt rivals Louisiana-Lafayette and Troy will also be present.
The meet will be the third outdoor meet of the season. Unfortunately, last weekend's meet at Georgia Tech was cancelled because of rain.
Coach Dean Hayes' team will compete in a full slate of individual track events, field events and the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.
Tiger Track Classic Heat Sheets
Middle Tennessee has competed at the Tiger Track Classic the last two years having great success including two school records set at last year's meet. Zamzam Sangau's time of 10:07.40 in the 3000 meters broke a 16 year old outdoor record of 10:21.74 set by Sharon Smith. Sangau placed third overall.
Then junior Maite Cortin's toss of 162-7 in the hammer throw also set a Middle Tennessee record. Cortin finished seventh overall.
