MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After a three-day layoff, Middle Tennessee returned to the practice field on Monday as it begins the final week of spring drills.
The Blue Raiders were able to squeeze in the 11th of 15 practices on Monday in Floyd Stadium between rain showers and the results were very encouraging.
"We had a really fun practice today," said Head Coach Rick Stockstill. "We competed at a high level the entire practice and it was very spirited. We got better today because the intensity, effort, and enthusiasm were outstanding."
There were a number of bright spots but one very noticeable one was the play of quarterback Dwight Dasher. During team today, Dasher completed 18 of 23 passes to 12 different receivers.
"Dwight has been very consistent the last three practices," added Stockstill. "He is getting a better understanding of the offense and his reads and is really stepping up as a leader. When someone makes a good play he compliments them and when they make a mistake he lets them know about that as well. I like what I am seeing from Dwight."
In order to make up for Friday's missed practice the Blue Raiders will return to the field on Tuesday. The team will also practice Wednesday and Thursday before concluding spring practice on Saturday with the Blue-White Game at 1 PM.
