MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee conducted its 13th practice of spring drills on Wednesday to mark its third day in a row inside Floyd Stadium. The team went through 19 periods under cloudy skies and 55 degree temperatures.
"I thought the offense played at a higher tempo and with more intensity today than the defense," said Head Coach Rick Stockstill. "Offensively, I thought Dwight (Dasher) had another solid day throwing the ball and the wide receivers improved in blocking which was an emphasis entering practice."
The defense did not play as sharply as they have been most of the spring but there were still some guys who came up with big plays. Danny Carmichael and Marcus Udell both had interceptions and the defensive line did a good job with pressure.
"Danny (Carmichael) made a lot of plays today," added Stockstill. "Chris McCoy, Rod Issac, and Brandon Perry all stood out and continued their consistent play."
The Blue Raiders will have their final practice before Saturday's spring game on Thursday. The team will be in shorts for their mandatory third practice in shorts and will only be on the field for about 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Stockstill said at the conclusion of practice that his staff would get together tonight and breakdown the rosters for Saturday's Blue-White Spring Game. An announcement of the rosters will be available on GoBlueRaiders.com Thursday afternoon.
