BATON ROUGE, La. - In a slightly less breezy day, then the day before, Middle Tennessee men's golf holds onto a tie for sixth place after the second day of action Saturday at the fifth-annual LSU Spring Invitational. The Blue Raiders shot a second round 303 for a two-day total of 598 at the par 72 University Club. In the 17-team event, Middle Tennessee is tied with the University of Maryland and is just two strokes behind Sun Belt foe South Alabama and three strokes behind UT-Arlington.
Individually, Blake Bivens, Kenny Green and Jonathon Burns are each tied for 27th place. After shooting one under on Friday, Bivens struggled in the second round, ending the day seven over par. Burns improved by two strokes as he finished the second round with a 74 after turning in a 76 the day before.
The Blue Raiders conclude the three-day tournament on Sunday morning.
