Middle Tennessee had moved up two spots into 10th and climbed to within three shots of jumping into eighth with a solid second round showing. The Blue Raiders were one of two teams (Ohio State) to be under par when play was suspended. The majority of the field had made the turn before play was halted for good after two previous delays and restarts.

Middle Tennessee is 1-under with all five players through nine holes in the second round. Ohio State (2-under) is the only other team under par during second round play. Kent Bulle and Craig Smith are both 2-under. Bulle is through 14 holes and Smith is through 11. Smith has turned in two birdies and has a bogey-free round going. Jason Millard is 1-over through 12 holes, Chas Narramore is 2-over through 10 and Rick Cochran is 3-over through 13.

"The course was actually playing more difficult today than it did (Thursday) so we had a good round going and we will need to finish it out (Saturday morning) and hope the weather holds out and we can get in a solid third round."

Turnbow said when players are going as well as the Blue Raiders were Friday the last thing they want is delays and suspended play.

"When you are playing well like we were it's the worst thing that can happen," Turnbow said. "When you are playing bad it's a good thing because you can go back and regroup. It's something that is out of your control. I thought we handled both of the delays well today but it did hurt our momentum a little."

Washington continues to lead the tournament at 4-under. The Huskies are 2-over in the second round. The top five teams advance into the NCAA Division I Men's National Championship in Toldeo, Ohio. The Blue Raiders will resume the second round 11 shots out of the fifth spot after making up three shots during the portion of the second round that was played.
