Blue Raiders Sweep UALR, 7-0

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee swept all three singles matches and all six singles matches, five in straight sets, as the 23rd-ranked Blue Raiders defeated Arkansas-Little Rock, 7-0, Saturday morning at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.

The Blue Raiders (14-6) jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches.

Andreas Siljestrom and Marco Born, ranked 18th, defeated Edson Abrao and Eduardo Autran, 8-1, at No. 1, before Greg Pollack and Anant Sitaram won 8-2 over Carlos Nunez and Tom Walter, 8-2, at No. 3. Brandon Allan and Kai Schledorn finished off doubles play with an 8-5 triumph over Nihal Advani and Dinko Halachev.

In singles Middle Tennessee won five of the singles matches in straight sets, with Schledorn taking the deciding point of the dual.

Pollack defeated Nunez, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6, and Allan won 6-3, 6-2, over Walker at No. 5. Schledorn won the deciding match in a 6-3, 6-3, victory over Abrao at No. 3.

Siljestrom, ranked 97th in singles, defeated Halachev, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1, while Sitaram won 6-3, 7-6 (3), at No. 4. Born was the final match on, winning 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (2), at No. 2.

The Blue Raiders close the end of the regular season Sunday at noon at Memphis. The Sun Belt Championships begin April 22 in Mobile, Ala.
