MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee women's tennis (7-12) dropped its final regular season Sun Belt match 5-2 to Arkansas-Little Rock (16-5) Saturday at Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
Arkansas-Little Rock got the early advantage by picking up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point. Middle Tennessee avoided the sweep as Jennifer Klaschka and Ann-Kristin Siljestrom defeated Outi Jarvinen and Ellie Vicary 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Klaschka and Siljestrom also accounted for the only points for the Lady Raiders in the singles portion of the match. Klaschka easily handled Jarvinen at No. 1 singles winning 6-1, 6-0. Siljestrom improved to 14-5 on the season with a come from behind victory over the Trojans Laetitia Bourgeon 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
The Lady Raiders play their final home match of the season on April 16 when the team hosts Southern Miss. Match time is set for 10 a.m. at Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
