Louisville Slugger All-America Teams
TUSCON, Ariz. - Sophomore Bryce Brentz has been named First Team Louisville Slugger All-America as announced by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Thursday.
The Knoxville, Tenn., native is one of 17 named to the first team which is chosen by performances up to regional playoffs and picked by the staff of Collegiate Baseball newspapers and features 13 conference players or pitchers of the year.
Brentz is one of three Sun Belt players to receive the honor as Florida International's Tyler Townsend was also named First Team while David Doss of South Alabama was named to the Third Team.
Brentz is currently batting .482 with 106 hits, 28 home runs, 72 RBI and has scored 78 runs. On the mound, he is 5-3 with 57 strikeouts and a 4.78 ERA.
