OMAHA, Neb. - Five Blue Raiders were named American Baseball Coaches Association South Central All-Region as announced by the organization on Friday.
Juniors Kenneth Roberts and Coty Woods were named first team starting pitcher and relief pitcher respectively while sophomore Bryce Brentz was named a first team outfielder.
Roberts was named Most Outstanding Player of the Sun Belt Championships and First Team All-Sun Belt while Woods was named First Team All-Sun Belt and to the All-Tournament team. Brentz has received a number of accolades in 2009 including Louisville Slugger First Team All-America, First Team Pro-Line Athletic/NCBWA All-America, Rivals.com First Team All-America and a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes award.
Seniors Rawely Bishop and Nathan Hines were named second team third base and outfielder respectively.
Bishop and Hines were each named Second Team All-Sun Belt and to the Sun Belt All-Tournament team.
The ABCA will take all First Team All-Region honorees and consider them for All-America honors at its meeting prior to the beginning of the College World Series.
