MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Due to the Blue Raiders' Nashville flagship station 106.7 The Fan (WNFN) undergoing a new format change, the Middle Tennessee Athletic Department is releasing the following statement from Director of Athletics Chris Massaro:

"We anticipated something like this could happen so we want to reassure our fans and more than 60,000 alumni in the Nashville area that we will continue to have a strong radio presence in middle Tennessee in general and the Nashville market in particular.

"We are in discussion with Cumulus Broadcasting and exploring all of our options in the Nashville market. Part of our concern is the new demographics for 106.7 The Fan and whether they fit our sports demographic.

"However, we do have a renewed commitment with 100,000-watt station WMOT (89.5 FM) which reaches all of middle Tennessee and beyond, and we are very excited about that."
