MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee wide receiver and track star Pedro Holiday has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Washington Redskins.
Holiday apparently turned some heads early in the recent rookie camp as he was one of six undrafted hopefuls who was selected out of 53 to have an opportunity to make the team's 53-man regular season roster.
Holiday, who will report back on June 17 for the team's full squad minicamp, had 16 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown in 2004. The Rome, Ga., native also averaged 18.4 yards a return on kickoffs.
Holiday will graduate on Saturday with a bachelor's degree in physical education.
