Blue Raiders fall to Ohio 3-0
Kozon leads team in kills
September 6, 2009 · MT Athletic CommunicationsMiddle Tennessee lost its second match in as many days to Ohio on Sunday afternoon to end the Blue Raider Bash.
The Bobcats took the match 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) with just one player, Ellen Herman, posting double-digit kills.
Ohio ended the match with 42 total kills for a .452 while the Blue Raiders were held to 30 kills and hit just .132 in the match.
Junior Izabela Kozon led the Blue Raiders in kills with nine but posted a hitting percentage of under .100. Senior Ashley Mead had the next highest kill total with seven.
Ohio posted nine team blocks while Middle Tennessee had two. The Bobcats also had seven service aces while the Blue Raiders had just two.
Middle Tennessee fell down 0-2 early in the match after problems staying in system and keeping attacks in-bounds.
After two sets, the Blue Raiders had just 19 kills for a .137 attack percentage while Ohio recorded 29 kills for a .511 hitting percentage.
Kozon led Middle Tennessee at the beginning of the match with seven kills with Mead adding four of her own.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Miami to compete in the Florida International Tournament.
