Blue Raiders round out play at tourney
Weather delays play; Peers and Langley compete in singles
September 20, 2009 · MT Athletic CommunicationsJohn Peers was one of two Blue Raiders to play on Sunday at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships after play was delayed due weather conditions.
In Division I singles, John Peers fell to Rhyne Williams of Tennessee 7-6 (5), 7-5 in the round of 32.
Matthew Langley defeated John Taylor of Memphis 6-2, 6-3 in Division II singles.
The Blue Raiders were scheduled to play two doubles matches but due to the continued inclement weather Division I and II doubles were cancelled.
Division III singles and consolation matches were also cancelled due weather conditions.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action Sept. 25-27 when they travel to Charlottesville, Va., to compete in the UVA Invitational.
