Blue Raiders ready for weekend action
Team will compete in two tournaments
October 1, 2009 · MT Athletic CommunicationsMatthew Langley along with Richard Cowden , Alex McCann and Kyle Wishing will compete in the Steve Baras Memorial Tennis Tournament beginning on Friday, Oct. 2.
Victor Melo will begin pre-qualifying action at the ITA All-American tournament hosted by the University of Tulsa on Saturday, Oct. 3.
John Peers will begin qualifying action in the tournament on Monday, Oct. 5 while the duo has qualified to the main draw in doubles.
Richard Cowden, Matthew Langley, Alex McCann and Kyle Wishing will all compete in the Steve Baras Memorial Tennis Tournament beginning on Friday, Oct. 2.
A total of 14 schools will be competing on the men's side including Belmont, Memphis, Southern Illinois and Tennessee.
The UTC Steve Baras Tennis Tournament and the Steve Baras Memorial Endowment Fund provide financial assistance to young men and women who are seeking an education in the UTC School of Business and are members of the Mocs' tennis teams. The student-athlete must demonstrate prowess on the tennis court, as well as academic success, leadership skills in University programs and community involvement.
Results on how the Blue Raiders are performing at the ITA All-American and the UTC Steve Baras Memorial Tennis Tournament will be posted on goblueraiders.com at the end of play each day.
