Nearly 50,000 football season ticket mailers sent out this week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee Ticket Office announced today that close to 50,000 football season ticket brochures were mailed out for the upcoming 2005 campaign.

Middle Tennessee alums, BRAA members who are not season ticket holders, Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce members, and season ticket holders from other Blue Raider sports were all targeted. The brochures went out in the counties of Rutherford, Bedford, Williamson, Davidson, Wilson, Cannon, and Coffee.

"We wanted to blanket the Midstate area with these season ticket mailers," said Director of Athletics Chris Massaro. "We have a good product that is exciting and affordable and we want to make our public aware of this opportunity as we approach the 2005 season. It is my understanding this is the largest ticket mailing by the athletic department this decade."

The Blue Raiders open the season on Sept. 3 at in Tuscaloosa, Ala., against the nationally-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Middle Tennessee will then play host to four-time Sun Belt Champion North Texas in its home opener on Sept. 10. Kickoff for the MT-UNT contest is set for 6 PM.

Football Notes: Street and Smith's College Football 2005 Yearbook named four Blue Raider players to its Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team with Germayle Franklin (OL), Willie Hall (OL), Stephen Chicola (TE), and Jeff Littlejohn (DL) all making the squad ... Middle Tennessee also announced three game times today with the Oct. 22 Homecoming game against Louisiana-Lafayette kicking off at 4 PM and road contests against Florida Atlantic (Oct. 15) starting at 3 PM and the Nov. 19 game at NC State getting underway at Noon.
