Blue Raiders begin final tournament of fall
Wishing begins play with qualifying rounds
October 22, 2009 · MT Athletic CommunicationsThe men's tennis team began qualifying play on Thursday morning at the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship.
Kyle Wishing fell to James Moye of Vanderbilt 7-6, 6-3 in the first round of qualifying. Wishing then lost to Shaun Bussert of Ball State 6-2, 6-4 in the consolation round.
When doubles action begins Friday afternoon, Wishing will pair with Alex McCann for doubles action and they will face Branko Kuzmanovic and Paul Foley of Purdue.
John Peers and Victor Melo, seeded fourth in the tournament, received a bye in the first round of play. The duo will face Bobby Deye and Brian Starr of Xavier Saturday morning.
The singles main draw will begin Friday afternoon after the qualifying finals, which begin at 8 a.m., conclude.
Results from Friday's action at the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship will be posted on goblueraiders.com at the end of play for the day.
