CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee played 36 holes on Monday at the Aldila Scenic City Invite and tallied a 573 total to stand in fifth place in the 17-team field. The tournament is being played at the par 72 Council Fire Golf Club.

Host Chattanooga and Wichita State are tied for the 36-hole lead with a 12-under par 564 total. Southern Miss is in third with a 566 followed by Charlotte in fourth with a 572. The Blue Raiders were 3-under par to grab fifth.

"Anytime you shoot under par you have to be happy," said Head Coach Whit Turnbow. "I have a couple of guys that are not very focused and that really cost us today. That will get corrected or we will find some replacements.

"Tomorrow will be a tough day because it is schedule to rain all day, but we are content on closing out the fall season on a strong note."

Sophomore Hunter Green led the Blue Raiders with a 5-under 139 to tie for fifth overall. Green opened with a 69 and followed with a 70 on the second 18.

Senior Kent Bulle is tied for ninth after opening with an even par 72 and storming back with a 4-under 68 in the afternoon. Bulle has a 140 total.

Brad Simons carded a 71-74 for a 145 score and is tied for 24th, while Craig Smith is tied for 48th with a 149.

Jason Millard completed the scoring with a 153 aggregate to tie for 69th.

The Blue Raiders will play the final round on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 AM.
