The Blue Raiders improved to 18-7 overall and 11-1 in Sun Belt matches while the Jags fell to 11-15 and 2-11 in league play.
Middle Tennessee ended the night with 41 total kills for a .318 attack percentage while holding South Alabama to a .026 hitting percentage with 22 kills.
"I think we started out the match on fire and then got very cold. It was nice to see in game three we put it all together and had a really good match," head coach Matt Peck said.
Junior Izabela Kozon was the only Blue Raider with double-digit kills as she knocked down 15 for a .414 hitting percentage.
"I thought Iza finished having an outstanding match and the last couple of matches she has put up some very good numbers for us," Peck said.
Senior Leslie Clark guided the offense with 31 assists and also added five kills and four block assists.
Defensively, senior Janay Yancey posted a team high five block assists while junior Alyssa Wistrick added three as the team had nine total blocks.
Middle Tennessee had 26 kills for a .233 hitting percentage after two sets while holding South Alabama to just 11 kills for a -0.78 hitting percentage. Kozon led the team at the break with nine kills and a .300 hitting percentage.
Middle Tennessee will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. when it faces Troy in Alumni Memorial Gym on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.
