GULFSHORES, Ala. - Middle Tennessee shot a fall-best round of 297 to take a three-shot lead at the 2009 UAB Fall Beach Blast. The Blue Raiders placed three players in the top five of the 36-hole event that will conclude on Tuesday.
"I was really pleased with the way the girls played today," said Head Coach Chris Adams. "It was our best round of the year. We have some work left but we are in good position, and one these players believe they should be in. They are excited and ready to post a good score on Tuesday."
Morgan Hale carded her best round of the season with a 73 to tie for third, while Ashley Haggard and Stephanie Smith are both tied for fifth after firing 74s.
Karisa Akin had a 76 to tie for 15th and Olivia Love registered a 77 and is in a tie for 22nd.
