GULF SHORES, Ala. - Middle Tennessee finished fifth at the UAB Fall Beach Blast to conclude its fall season. The Blue Raiders had a disappointing day on Tuesday by shooting a 315 to finish the 36-hole event with a 612.

"After getting off to a great start on Monday, this was a disappointing way to finish the fall season," said Head Coach Chris Adams. "We came in expecting to win but our inconsistent play derailed us on Tuesday. We have a very young team so now we need to learn from the fall season and work extremely hard between now and the spring so that we will be ready for the 2010 portion of our schedule."

Memphis won the event with a 595 followed by Samford, Arkansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, and then the Blue Raiders.

Morgan Hale and Stephanie Smith both tied for 16th to lead the Blue Raiders after disappointing second rounds. Hale had an 80 on Tuesday while Smith carded a 79.

Olivia Love had the best round of the day for the Blue Raiders with a 77 but tied for 20th with a 154 total. Ashley Haggard joined Love with a 154 after registering an 80 in the final round.

Karisa Akin completed the scoring with a 79 on Tuesday to tie for 26th with a 155.
