MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Freshman defensive back Kenneth Gilstrap earned high school All-America honors from Track and Field News, it was announced in this month's edition of the magazine. Gilstrap earned All-American honors in both the 100 meters and 200 meters.

The Lithonia, Ga., native was listed number two nationally in the 100 meters with a best time of 10.31. He won the state title, the Atlanta IC and the Golden West Invitational in that event.

Gilstrap, one of just seven competitors nationally to rate in two events, was fifth-best in the 200 meters. His best time in the 200 was 20.98.

Gilstrap, who has seen action on offense and defense for the Blue Raider football team this year, owns 19 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. He scored his first touchdown on a 49-yard run against Western Kentucky earlier this year.

Gilstrap, who will participate on the Blue Raider track team when football season is complete, was a seven-time Junior Olympic champion, a two-time World Team participant, and owns the Miller Grove High School record in both the 100 and 200 meters.
