KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Two singles wins highlighted final day action for the Middle Tennessee women's tennis team Sunday at the Tennessee-hosted St. Mary's Tournament at the Varsity Tennis Courts in Knoxville, Tenn.

"I am really excited about what our team has accomplished this last weekend as well as this entire fall season," head coach Alison Ojeda said. "We have focused on consistency, depth and overall focus, all of which have improved tremendously over the last few months. Our girls are understanding not only what it takes to be a great player, but also how to play against great players. In the past, I have felt that we tend to beat ourselves trying to do things that we are not yet capable of doing on a daily basis. I am thrilled about the fact that when we compete against great players, we make them work hard for each and every point. As we head into the offseason, we know as coaches and our players know as athletes just what needs to be done. We look forward to doing it!"

Freshman Yuiri Nomoto garnered a come-from-behind three-set triumph over ETSU's Andra Voinea 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 in flight five action.

During flight six play, sophomore Anna Djananova posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Vanderbilt's Megan Gornet.

A trio of other Blue Raiders saw singles action with all three going the distance in hard-fought three set matches.

Middle Tennessee also had a group of three players see action during the doubles flights, but none could pull out a victory Sunday.

The Blue Raiders concluded their fall campaign with the tournament and will resume action in the spring for dual matches.
