MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) is currently sponsoring two big events and encourages the Murfreesboro community to participate.
The group will be sponsoring a canned food drive on December 8 at the Middle Tennessee-Belmont men's basketball game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM. Student athletes will be at all entrances of Murphy Center collecting canned food for the Rutherford County Food Bank and want to encourage all fans to participate.
The SAAC is also in the middle of their annual Winter Clothes Drive. Anyone can donate coats, sweatshirts, and sweaters by dropping them off at the Athletic Enhancement Center on Faulkinberry Drive on campus. The items collected will be given to the less fortunate in time for Christmas.
These are two annual events organized by Blue Raider student-athletes who continue to make a difference in the community.
