MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The No. 24 ranked Middle Tennessee women's basketball team travels to Baton Rouge, La., Wednesday for its first road game of the season against No. 7 LSU in a meeting between the two schools for the third year in a row.

The Blue Raiders have won each of the last two meetings, including last year's 79-75 triumph inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center when then-sophomore Anne Marie Lanning iced the victory with a pair of free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining.

Middle Tennessee remained at No. 24 in the latest Associated Press poll announced Monday. The Blue Raiders slipped one spot, to No. 27, in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll released Tuesday.

Senior Alysha Clark was selected as the Sun Belt Player of the Week for November 17 after leading MT to a season-opening 78-53 victory against defending Conference USA champion UCF inside the Murphy Center Sunday. The honor for the ESPN.com Preseason First Team All-American is the seventh of her Blue Raider career, equaling the school record set by Amber Holt.

Fellow seniors Chelsia Lymon and Jackie Pickel also reached the double-figure scoring plateau in the win over the Knights with 17 and 12 points, respectively.

LSU captured a 92-19 triumph in its opener Sunday against in-state foe Centenary. Allison Hightower paced head coach Van Chancellor's Tigers with 20 points. LSU is ranked No. 7 by the AP and No. 15 by the coaches in this week's polls.
