INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Middle Tennessee volleyball program will travel to Fort Collins, Colo., for the first and second rounds of the 2009 NCAA Tournament as announced Sunday afternoon.

ยท 2009 NCAA Tournament Bracket

Colorado State will host the Blue Raiders, Washington and Northern Colorado for the first weekend of the tournament.

Middle Tennessee (25-9) will face host Colorado State (23-5) while Washington will open with Northern Colorado.

"I'm excited about our draw. Colorado State has a very strong history in volleyball. They have a very good team, a well-coached team and a very physical team. I think it will be an interesting match-up. I don't think they are too familiar with our style and we have a good history in the NCAA tournament as well," head coach Matt Peck said.

The first and second round games in Fort Collins will be held Thursday, Dec. 3 and Friday, Dec. 4 in Fort Collins with the winner advancing to the Minneapolis Regional.

The Blue Raiders will play at 8:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Dec. 3 with Washington and Northern Colorado playing the early match at 6:00 p.m. CT. The winner of each match will play at 8 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 4 in the second round.

This is the fourth consecutive appearance in the national tournament for the Blue Raiders and after winning the conference tournament its third automatic bid in four years.

"I am looking forward to it and it's a good match-up. We have been playing well. We lost to Saint Louis yesterday, a top-25 team who also made the tournament, and I think we will play well this weekend. It's the first time we have not been able to bus but that is ok we are used to traveling in our conference," Peck said.

More information on the Blue Raiders' trip to the NCAA Tournament will be posted www.goblueraiders.com as it becomes available.
