LEXINGTON, Ky. - Sophomore Stacy Oladinni has been named South All-Region as announce by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Oladinni led the Blue Raiders in hitting percentage throughout the season ending the 2009 campaign with a .396. Oladinni was ninth in the country in the category prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament a week ago.
The La Vergne, Tenn., native knocked down 326 kills and had 47 assists during the 2009 season. Oladinni also aided the net defense with 105 total blocks.
Oladinni was one of five players from the Sun Belt to receive All-Region honors. Florida International had three players named All-Region (Yarimar Rosa, Natalia Valentin and Jovana Bjelica) while Denver had one (Emmy Davidsmeyer) to round out student-athletes from the league.
Middle Tennessee ended the 2009 season with a 25-10 record after winning the Sun Belt Championships for its third automatic bid in four years to the national tournament. The Blue Raiders faced Colorado State who will play in the round of 16 later this week.
