Mobley Tosses Another Perfect Inning

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee hurler Chris Mobley tossed his second perfect inning for Team USA Wednesday at the IBAF World Cup in Haarlem, Netherlands, in the team's 12-6 victory over Puerto Rico.

Mobley walked one but did not allow a hit, pitching the final inning in Team USA's fourth straight victory. The righthander and Tally Haines tossed 2.2 scoreless innings after Puerto Rico closed the gap to 8-6 in the seventh.

Team USA leads Group B with its 4-0 record, followed by Nicaragua (2-0 heading into Wednesday's play) and Japan (3-1 before Wednesday). Team USA's remaining schedule in the two-week tournament: Friday against Nicaragua, Saturday versus Japan, Monday against the Czech Republic, and Tuesday versus Chinese Taipei. Quarterfinals take place on September 14, with the semifinals on September 16 and the championship game on September 17.
