MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee volleyball (11-1) extended its winning streak to 10 consecutive matches with a 3-0 (33-31, 30-18, 30-24) victory over in-state rival Austin Peay (3-6) Tuesday in the Dunn Center.

It was the sixth shutout of the season for the Blue Raiders and the fourth team from the state of Tennessee the squad has defeated this season. Middle Tennessee is now 3-0 on the road.

Middle Tennessee suffered through a shaky first game to start the match, having to come behind to defeat the Lady Govs. After 10 ties in the match, Austin Peay surged ahead to take a 25-22 advantage. The Blue Raiders took a timeout, and after the break, Middle Tennessee won the next three points to tie the game at 25. Four ties later, the game was tied at 31 all when the Blue Raiders closed out the game thanks to an attack error by Austin Peay and a kill by Blue Raider freshman Ashley Adams.

The next two games didn't come close to the dramatics of game one. Middle Tennessee took game two decisively thanks to a .360 attack percentage and just six Blue Raider errors. Austin Peay was held to a .086 attack percentage. The Blue Raiders clinched the match with solid play in game three to assure their winning streak continued.

Junior Andressa Lyra also continued her streak as she has now recorded double figure kills in all 12 contests to start the season with 24 kills against Austin Peay. She has also notched nine double doubles after having 20 digs against the Lady Govs.

Adams had 13 kills in the match, which is the ninth time this season she has recorded double figure kills. Sophomore Lindsay Sisco added 10 kills in the match.

Middle Tennessee returns to action on Friday when the Blue Raiders travel to St. Louis, Missouri to compete in the Billikens Tournament. The Blue Raiders will face Washington State to kick off the tournament at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
