Blue Raiders Shut Down PAC-10 Foe Washington State 3-0
September 16, 2005 · MT Media RelationsThe victory improves the Blue Raider's win streak to 11 consecutive matches. Middle Tennessee hasn't lost a match since the team dropped its second match of the season to Texas-El Paso on August 26.
"It wasn't a pretty match but we got this win," said Head Coach Matt Peck. "This was a big win for us, because I don't think many people thought we could do it."
Middle Tennessee ensured the victory with a .216 attack percentage and held the Cougars to .155. The Blue Raiders notched the victory despite suffering through 11 service errors and also had four reception errors.
Freshman Ashley Adams showed she enjoyed the trip home as the outside hitter is from Wildwood, Mo., by leading both squads with 15 kills and committed just five errors. Victoria Monasterolo added 14 kills in the match and Andressa Lyra had 10.
Middle Tennessee returns to action on Saturday when the squad will face off against host St. Louis at 10 a.m. The Blue Raiders finish off the tournament with Oakland at 4:30 p.m.
