Lady Raider Volleyball Falls in Five to UALR
October 7, 2001 · MT Media RelationsThe Lady Raiders rallied back in the fourth game, after dropping two straight games to the Lady Trojans, with the strong serving of junior setter Kelly Quinn and sophomore Caia Morstad. With four service aces, three coming at the end of the fourth game, Morstad broke her career record in aces with the previous being two.
Freshman Shakeithia Deckard led all scorers with 22 kills and junior Katie Thiesen recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Karisse Baker broke her career record in digs with 14, with her previous being seven against Mississippi State in 2000.
Middle Tennessee falls to 6-11 overall and 2-3 in the Sun Belt Conference, while UALR improves to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Lady Raiders will begin a two game road swing on Friday when the team travels to Denver, CO to take on the University of Denver at 7 p.m.
