MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Junior Bryce Brentz received his third First Team Preseason All-America honor on Friday.
Baseball America named Brentz to their first team after his impressive sophomore campaign in which he led the nation in four statistical categories while batting .465 with 107 hits, 28 home runs, 73 RBI and scored 60 runs.
Brentz is an outfielder on the team and was the only Sun Belt player on the first team, which had seven players from the Southeastern Conference.
The Knoxville, Tenn., native has also received Preseason All-America honors from Louisville Slugger and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
In 2009, Brentz was a consensus All-America and the Sun Belt Player of the Year.
The Blue Raiders will open the 2010 season at Memphis on Feb. 19 at 4 p.m.
