Blue Raiders Bounce Back; Defeat Troy 3-0
September 25, 2005 · MT Media RelationsThe Blue Raiders had their 13-match winning streak snapped at Western Kentucky on Friday to open Sun Belt play, but the squad would not fall to 0-2 in the Sun Belt. The shutout is the ninth this season and the fifth win on the road.
Middle Tennessee struggled in the first game, with just a .130 attack percentage and recorded seven errors. After the shaky start, the Blue Raiders settled into the match and proved too much for Troy.
Overall, the Blue Raiders recorded a .262 attack percentage and had seven service aces in the match. Troy was held to just a .090 attack percentage and had 22 error.
Junior Andressa Lyra has now recorded double figure kills in all 17 matches as she had 10 kills against Troy. Here 10 digs gives her 12 double doubles on the season.
Middle Tennessee's Victoria Monasterolo added 14 kills in the match to lead all players and sophomore libero Alicia Lemau'u added 15 digs.
The Blue Raiders continue their Sun Belt Conference road swing on Friday, September 30 when the team travels to Arkansas State. If the Blue Raiders can win the match, the team will be just one win shy of equaling their win total from 2004.
