Siljestrom-Born Fall in Doubles Final
September 25, 2005 · MT Media RelationsBorn and Siljestrom defeated Virginia's Somdev Devvarman and Treat Huey in the semifinals, 8-6, but fell to Harvard's Sasha Ermakov and Ashwin Kumar by the same score in the finals.
The only other Blue Raider in action on Sunday was sophomore Marc Boiron, who was playing with Virginia's Nick Meros in Flight C doubles. The duo defeated Harvard's Michael Kalfayan and Nick Savage in the semifinals before taking out Liberty's Priit Pihl and Sebastian Pena in the finals, though no scores were available for either match.
Middle Tennessee returns to action October 3-9 at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Born-Siljestrom and the eighth-ranked doubles team of Brandon Allan and Kai Schledorn will be part of the doubles main draw, while all four players are currently scheduled to take part in qualifying singles play.
