October 9, 2001 · MT Media Relations
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Freshman Danielle LaDuke earned Sun Belt Conference Soccer Player of the Week honors after scoring six goals and handing out an assist in two weekend league victories at Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

The freshman from Liverpool, N.Y., scored three goals in each match over the weekend, and has now scored nine goals in her last three matches. LaDuke also had an assist in Friday's 5-2 win at UALR.

For the season, the 5-7 forward has 11 goals, second in the conference and second on the single-season list at Middle Tennessee, just two behind the school record of 13 set by Hailee Walsh in 1998. The 11 goals also places LaDuke fourth on the career goals scored list at MT, just three goals from second-place.

LaDuke stands second in the Sun Belt in goals and points per game, and fourth in shots per contest this week. Blue Raider freshman Laura Miguez, who has assisted on five of LaDuke's goals this season, leads the league in assists with seven.

MT returns home this weekend, entertaining Denver and North Texas on Friday and Sunday. Friday's match against Denver starts at 4 p.m. at the Blue Raider Soccer Field, while Sunday's kickoff is set for 1 p.m. versus North Texas.
