Blue Raiders Defeat UALR 3-1; Win 17th of the Season
October 2, 2005 · MT Media RelationsFor the first time in school history, Middle Tennessee completed a road sweep of the schools from Arkansas. The Blue Raiders defeated Arkansas State 3-1 on Friday, September 30.
The win is the third consecutive victory and overall, the Blue Raiders have won 16 of their last 17 matches. Middle Tennessee is also 7-1 on the road this season.
Middle Tennessee was led by freshman Ashley Adams as she recorded 18 kills and had a .500 attack percentage, committing just three errors. She also had two block assists.
In total, Middle Tennessee had four players register double figure kills. Andressa Lyra continued her streak of consecutive double figure kills with 11 against the Trojans. Quanshell was second on the team with 14 kills and Victoria Monasterolo added 13. Libero Alicia Lemau'u notched her second straight 20 plus dig performance with 20 digs against UALR.
Middle Tennessee returns home after a month of road matches on Saturday when the team hosts Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, October 8. Match time is set for 2 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Gym.
