October 3, 2005 · MT Media Relations
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team had rounds of 308-309 on Monday at the Georgia State University Pelican Preserve Invitational to tie for third in the nine-team field. The Lady Raiders had a 617 total on the par 72 Pelican Preserve Golf Course in very windy conditions.

South Florida owns the 36-hole lead with a 607 while host Georgia State is second with a 614. Middle Tennessee and Campbell are tied for third while Florida International stands in fifth.

"I was pretty pleased with the way we played today considering the windy conditions," said Head Coach Rachael Short. "We left a few shots out on the course that I would like to have back but I think we can make a move on Tuesday if we play smart."

Sophomore Taryn Durham led the way for Middle Tennessee with a 153 to tie for 11th overall while Jamey Dillard is 15th with a 154.

Freshman Leigh Wilkins carded a 155 to tie for 16th and Grace Holmes and Maggie McGill both registered a 159 to tie for 25th.

The Lady Raiders will play the final round on Tuesday morning.
