MOBILE, Ala. - Middle Tennessee slipped to seventh place at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate with a 294 score Monday on the par 72 Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course (7,212 yards). The Blue Raiders own a 36-hole total of 587 which is 11 strokes out of the lead.

"We are close," said Head Coach Whit Turnbow. "We are a few silly mistakes from putting a good round together. The field is bunched up so whoever plays well Tuesday will come out on top."

Mississippi owns the lead after two days with a 576 while Memphis is second with a 582 followed by Vanderbilt, Louisville, and Iowa State all tied for third at 585.

Kent Bulle maintained his overall lead in the tournament with an even par 72 on Monday. Bulle has a two-day total of 139 and his two shots better than Joe David (Mississippi), Jeff Kellen (Illinois State), and Nate McCoy (Iowa State). Bulle had five birdies on that day but also recorded five bogeys.

Senior Craig Smith fired a 74 to move his 36-hole score to 147 which is good enough for 21st position. Smith, who was 3-over par through his first 10 holes, finished 1-under his last eight.

Brad Simons improved three strokes from Sunday's score to post a 1-over par 73. Simons is tied for 37th after posting four birdies during Monday's round.

Hunter Green carded a 75 to tie for 58th while Dane Voss also registered a 75 to stand in a tie for 92nd. Voss improved eight strokes over Sunday's score of 83.

"I am proud of Dane Voss and the way he came back today," said Turnbow. "This is his first trip with the team and he has responded well."

The Blue Raiders will play the final round beginning Tuesday morning.
